Organ Pipe Cactus, a National Monument, is situated in the Arizona of the America. It is quite remotely and with fewer visitors. Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument is established to shelter its namesake, organ pipe cactus. Monument is the biggest concentration of vegetation in the United States which is located in the endmost part of southern Arizona and visitor center has the distance from the edge of Mexican less than ten miles. Tucson and Yuma are the two large population centers nearby Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument with more than 150 meters from the monument. However, a few of small towns, hotels, snack shop and gas station nearby the northern edges of the monument.
Basically, the park is an unaffected American desert environment with comparatively lush plants in the Southwest region. The concentration of cacti is equivalent higher than other desert plants in the southwest of the United States. The desert environment is unique and needs of animals and plants which live there to adapt to extreme temperatures, strong sunlight, only a little water. Many of animals are living here where contains bighorn sheep, bats, birds, mountain lions, Sonoran pronghorns, kangaroo rat, Javelina, packrats and reptiles. The park also shows 26 different kinds of cactus, is the home of the same name of the giant cactus. The outstanding natural protected areas designated by the United Nations as an international biosphere reserve in 1976.
All the roads are opened for biking except the hiking trails and in the backcountry. Visitors should notice that before getting an off-trail hike, you have to check with the visitor center for that whether the trails are closed. The park including two campgrounds which are Alamo and Twin Peaks, the former provides 4 tent sites without water and reservation only.
