Moscow, the largest and most populous city in Russia is also the capital of the country. It is the home to all major economic and political centers and plays an important role in the country’s cultural, social and scientific realms. With a population of over 11,000,000 Moscow is considered the world’s northernmost megacity and is the 5th largest city in the world; not forgetting the fact that it is the most populous city of all European countries. The city also holds the record for the most Billionaires living in a single community according to Forbes list of billionaires in 2013.

Russia’s capital, Moscow, sits on approximately 2,511 square kilometers and situated on Russia’s Moskva River. It has served as the capital of the great nation of Russia through all its progressions over time to the present day Soviet Union. The Russian parliament (both chambers) also has its sitting in the great city. At the same time, Moscow is home to the Kremlin, a medieval fortress that is not only a world heritage site, but also the residence of Soviet Union’s President.

Moscow is also world renowned for its culture and lifestyle. Despite the fact that Russia is one of the coldest countries in the world, there is much that can be seen, done and enjoyed in this great metropolitan city. It is home to some of the best art museums in the world and houses some of the best musical and theater centers.

Nightlife in the great city is considered a trend setter. With plenty of stars, socialites, celebrities, wealthy patrons and such, nightspots, clubs and entertainment centers are world-class and are mostly packed at any time of the year. There are plenty of recreational amenities like parks and stadiums within the great city. Moscow is also home of the busiest shopping streets in not only Russia but also Europe with renowned brand stores having shops here. Moscow is home to a good number of sporting facilities and is also home to some of the best world sporting teams in football, ice hockey, gymnastics to mention but a few.
