The construction of this museum was done in the year of 2000. The special roofline and great dividion of the building make this museum the largest one in the whole southern hemisphere. and those figures also make it famous all over the world.But the most attractive part of the museum is not because of the size of the building, it is the numerous treasure contained in it. For instance, the Australian Aboriginal heritage from the ancient times to the present modern world. All of those presents will lead you into a time travelling, and all you want is a time machine. And beside that the location of the museum is beside the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens, between Rathdown and Nicholson Sts.

Ther are a vast number of sections and galleries in the museum, and more than twenty various exhibitions are showed there. The famous section could be listed as follows: the Children’s Museum Big Box; Bunjilaka; and the Australia, Mind and Body,Te Pasifika, Science and Life, Forest, and Evolution Galleries. And all of those galleries have the show ranging from the ancient original period of earth to the racing legend Phar Lap. And in many galleries you can enjoy the traveling exhibitions.
The museum is under the management of Museum Victoria. And in the Museum Victoria there are collections accumulate to sixteen million items. And it has three locations and 4 museums in total. And the Melbourne Museum at Carlton Gardens collects the jewel in the crown.

Time for opening
The Melbourne Museum starts to run in from ten in the morning to five in the afternoon, Good Friday and Christmas Day not included.
Tickets
$6 per adult. Free for children between three to sixteen years old.
Some important touring exhibitions needs extra pay.
